Privacy Policy
WinDock is a local macOS application for creating and running a Windows virtual machine on Apple Silicon Macs.
Data collection
WinDock does not collect, sell, rent, or share personal data. WinDock does not use third-party analytics SDKs, advertising SDKs, tracking SDKs, or tracking domains.
Local files
WinDock works with files selected by the user, including Windows ISO files, virtual machine disk images, and the shared folder used between macOS and Windows.
The default shared folder is:
~/Documents/WinDock Shared
Files in this folder remain on the user's Mac unless the user moves, copies, or shares them elsewhere.
Virtual machines
WinDock stores virtual machine data locally on the Mac. Virtual machine disks can be large. Users can delete virtual machines from WinDock settings to reclaim space.
Network use
WinDock may open Microsoft's Windows download page when the user chooses to get Windows from Microsoft.
WinDock also uses local network services on the same Mac to display and integrate the Windows virtual machine. These local services are used for VM display, file sharing, and clipboard integration.
Windows and Microsoft
WinDock does not include Windows, Windows installation media, Windows activation keys, or Microsoft account services. Windows is provided by Microsoft and must be obtained, licensed, installed, and activated by the user.
